A Clinical Approach to Whole-Person Healing

Healing is a physiological process—

a regulated nervous system,

a balanced digestive system,

and a body that feels safe enough to repair, release, and restore.

My work integrates

Ayurvedic medicine, trauma-responsive care, and mind-body science

to support these pathways with structure, clarity, and compassion.

I help clients understand what’s happening inside their bodies—

how long-term stress and trauma shape

digestion, sleep, hormones, and emotional states,

and how targeted, individualized practices can create measurable, sustainable change.

My approach is grounded, clinically informed, and paced with care:

through assessments, personalized protocols, and evidence-supported methods designed to honor your capacity and your story.

My Story

Hi, I'm Amanda Loera Wheldon. I blend the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda with modern trauma-responsive care to help people reconnect with their bodies, restore balance, and reclaim their inner strength.

My approach is gentle, personalized, and deeply empowering-rooted in the belief that healing unfolds when safety, compassion, and wisdom come together.

My path into this work began long before I stepped into formal training. I saw firsthand how childhood trauma and chronic stress affect the body—how they disrupt physiology, distort self-perception, and quietly shape a person’s entire life.

That awareness became the foundation for my dedication to trauma-informed, whole-person healing.

Ayurveda offered me a comprehensive lens for understanding imbalances through physiology, lifestyle, and natural medicine.

Trauma care training deepened my understanding of the nervous system and the importance of safety, pacing, and attunement.

Together, they form the integrated approach I offer today.

If you're ready to begin a healing process that honors both your physiology and your story, I’m here to support you.

Answers Of Commonly Received Questions

1. What can I expect in my first Ayurvedic session and/or my first Trauma Care session?

Your initial Ayurvedic session includes a comprehensive intake that covers your health history, current symptoms, lifestyle patterns, trauma-informed background, and nervous system profile.

We will identify your Ayurvedic constitution (dosha), imbalances (vikruti), and core areas of dysregulation. In the event that your current imbalances require a simple cleanse detox (determined in the first visit based on symptoms) we will start working together by implementing simple Ayurvedic cleanse herbs, nutrition and lifestyle adjustments. This process typically last for two weeks and requires you the purchase herbs separately from our consultation. Those herbs will be recommended by your Ayurvedic Practitioner and will be included in your initial protocol as a link to direct you where to purchase your Ayurvedic herbs.

Starting with the initial cleanse process has several benefits, one being it prepares you for working with Ayurvedic practices that will be more effective if a cleanse has been performed, to allow your targeted herbal plan to provide better absorption and better efficiency. There are cases where the initial cleanse is not necessary, therefore, that will be determined based on the Ayurvedic Practitioner's review of your case in your initial session.

In your initial Trauma Care session, your Trauma Care Coach will be obtaining background information in an intake process that focuses on getting to know you and understand your trauma history. Additionally, several protocols will be discussed to ensure the upmost safety and support systems you have in place. Your coach will learn what your trauma recovery goals and desires are and ways in which to start coming back to yourself with a manageable plan that prioritizes safety and pace.

2. How do Ayurveda and trauma-informed care work together?

Ayurveda addresses the physiological roots of imbalance, including but not limited to digestion, sleep, energy, hormones, and daily rhythms. Working with the gross and subtle energies of the body and mind, you can start to experience shifts in your emotional and mental wellbeing, as well as, receive the benefits of physical wellbeing by incorporating healthy practices and removing unhealthy habits that have an impact on you holistically.

Trauma-informed care supports the nervous system, emotional regulation, and the body’s capacity to process and release stored patterns.

Together, they create a whole-person approach that is both biologically sound and emotionally safe.

3. Do you diagnose or treat medical or psychiatric conditions?

No. I do not diagnose or treat medical or psychiatric disorders.

My work is complementary and supportive.

I provide holistic wellness guidance using Ayurvedic principles, somatic awareness, and trauma-responsive methods.

You are encouraged to maintain care with your primary medical or mental health providers.

4. Is this the same as therapy?

No. My services are not psychotherapy or counseling.

While trauma-informed care acknowledges your experiences and supports emotional regulation, it does not replace the clinical work of a licensed therapist.

Many clients find this work deeply supportive alongside therapy.

5. Do I need a specific diagnosis to work with you?

No. Many clients come without a formal diagnosis.

If you experience stress, dysregulation, overwhelm, digestive issues, emotional imbalance, or lingering effects of trauma, this work may support you.

6. What issues do you specialize in?

My clinical focus areas include:

• childhood trauma

• cPTSD

• chronic stress and overwhelm

• nervous system dysregulation

• mental and emotional imbalance

• patterns of shutdown, freeze, or hypervigilance

• digestive and sleep disturbances connected to trauma or stress

Although, these are my areas of focus, I will consider other aspects of health that may be occurring simultaneously alongside these areas of concern, and will support those concerns on a case-by case basis if applicable. This is individualized work and each person is seen as unique and requiring different approaches to be of upmost support.

7. Is this safe for people with trauma histories?

Yes. My work is grounded in trauma-responsive principles, including pacing, titration, resourcing, and awareness of your window of tolerance.

Sessions are designed to be stabilizing rather than activating. Trauma Care Sessions are client-led, and it is up to the client if they want to continue, stop, or shift focus in session together.

8. What if I become overwhelmed during a session?

Your safety is the priority.

We will pause, re-regulate, and adjust the pace.

You are always in control of the process, and no technique is ever forced or rushed.

9. How long does it take to see results?

This varies by person.

Many clients notice early improvements in stress levels, digestion, grounding, or sleep within a few weeks.

Deeper trauma pattern work and full physiological balance generally take time, often several months.

I provide structured, realistic timelines during your initial consultation.

10. What is the difference between a consultation and a program?

Consultations offer support session by session, focusing on your current goals.

Integrated Programs provide more transformative, long-term guidance with regular sessions, adjustments, and deeper trauma/Ayurvedic integration. Programs also offer a community of individuals who are experiencing similar concerns and provide even more educational resources for those members of that community.

11. Do you offer virtual sessions?

Yes. All services are available virtually, which allows clients to receive care from a comfortable, familiar, and safe environment.

12. Can Ayurveda help with emotional and mental health?

Yes. Ayurveda has a well-developed understanding of mental and emotional imbalance, particularly related to digestion, stress, and nervous system health.

When combined with trauma-responsive care, this approach can significantly support emotional clarity, stability, and resilience.

13. Will I receive a personalized plan in my Ayurvedic sessions?

Yes. Every Ayurvedic client receives an individualized plan that includes Ayurvedic lifestyle support, somatic regulation practices, nutrition guidance, and Ayurvedic herbal recommendations (if applicable).

14. What should I have prepared before my first Ayurvedic session and/or Trauma Care Session?

For your initial Ayurvedic session, you’ll receive a detailed intake form. This form, along with a privacy policy and consent form are required to be submitted within 48 hours of your first appointment. This allows your Ayurvedic Practitioner to review your responses, and best prepare for your initial appointment.

It’s helpful to reflect on:

• your primary concerns

• current symptoms

• stress patterns

• sleep and digestion

• any trauma history you choose to share (always optional)

For your Trauma Care session, you will receive a Policies & Procedures, Mutual Expectations, and Disclosures agreement prior to our initial meeting. This form will need to be signed and submitted prior to working together. During our initial session, you will be asked some background and trauma history questions to better get to know. you and how to best support you in your trauma healing journey. You are only asked to share what feels safe.

15. Do you work with teens or children?

At this time, I work with adults (18+).

16. What are your fees and payment options?
